Rwenzoris or Mountains of the Moon is a range of Block Mountains that result from the formulation of the great Western Rift Valley. The Mountains lie along the Western edge of Uganda on the border with DRC.
The main summit, Margherita (5109 m) Africa's third highest peak, rises out of the Stanely Plateau, the largest glaciated area on the continent

The peak is ice capped and straddles atop the 120 km range bordering DRC. The mistery, beauty and awe of these ranges has remained a source of curiosity to many explorers and tourists since historical times and they are rated to be the most challenging of Africa's peaks.

The Mountain has several peaks that require prior climbing experience because they offer unequally challenging expedition. However amateur climbers can opt for the lower ranges for excellent walking and hiking opportunities.

Trek through the mountains will bring you to unique flora, of Alpine vegetation. At the mountains, glacier crater lakes exist, rivers flow high up in the mountain and deep valleys, gorges and boggy swamps add to the mystery and wonder of the expedition.

   Itinerary  

DAY 1 :
Arrival and transfer to Hotel (F/B).

DAY 2 :
Depart Kampala via Mbarara to Kasese. Stopover at the Equator for Photography, this is a sport where one stands in two hemispheres at ago. Stopover in Mbarara for an early Lunch and after drive to Kasese. Dinner and overnight at Ibanda foot of the mountains.

DAY 3 :
From Ibanda, start trekking through the Afro-montane forest, and arrive Nyabitaba Hut for Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 4 :
Breakfast at Nyabitaba. After, ascend through the hanging valleys to the waterfalls overlooking deep gorges. Dinner and Overnight at John Mate Camp.

DAY 5 :
Have Breakfast and proceed through the swampy Bog, crossing a river. View the unique flora and fauna. Arrive Bujuju for Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 6 :
Breakfast at Bujuku. Proceed to Kitandara via health and Moorland. Dinner and Overnight at Kitandara Hut.

DAY 7 :
Breakfast at Kitandara. Descend to Guy Yeo Man via a breath taking scenic beauty. Dinner and Overnight at Guy Yeo Man Camp.

DAY 8 :
Breakfast at Guy Yeo Man. Continue the downward trek through the river crossings, valleys and Montane forest. Dinner and Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut.

DAY 9 :
Descend to Ibanda for Breakfast and after leave for Kampala to own Hotel.

Day 10 :
After Breakfast, go for a shopping splee and Departure in the Evening.
