The mountain park has a lush montane forest,with a collapsed cone forming a large Caldera, towering Cliffs, river valleys, great caves and waterfalls.
Unique flora and fauna also inhabit the Mountain. Visitors are advised to carry enough food supplies, warm clothes, rain gear, strongwalking shoes, first aid kit and sleeping bags.

Itinerary
DAY 1 :
Arrival and transfer to Hotel (F/B).
DAY 2 : Depart Kampala to Elgon National Park via Mbale.
Enroute, view sceneries of Tea and Sugar Plantations.
Stopover at Mabira Natural Forest for photography.
Dinner and Overnight at Mbale.
DAY 3 :
Early Breakfast in Mbale, proceed to Budadiri to start the climbing Trek. See the lush Montane Forest! Rest and refresh at Mugangi Cliffs. Proceed and Sasa River Camp for Overnight.
DAY 4 :
An early walk through the lush Montane Forest, up to Sasa Patrol hut for rest and refreshment. Continue through the heath to Mude Cave Camp for Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 5 :
Have Breakfast after which, walk through the moorland to see the everlasting flora, giant lobelia and the bush duikers.
Ascend further to the Caldera Rim to view crater lakes and continue to Wagagai Peak. Lunch at the Peak. Descend to
Mude Cave Camp for Dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 :
Breakfast at Mude Cave Camp. After, trek though the Moorland to the Moorland to the Caldera. Proceed to the Hot Spring to the Suam George. Lunch at the Hot Springs. Descend to Mude Cave Camp for Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 7 :
Have Breakfast and descend through the park boundary and proceed to Budadiri for local cultural performance and handicrafts. Lunch in Mbale, after proceed to Jinja to the source of the Nile a sport where this second longest river in the world flows to the Mediterranean. Drive to Kampala to own Hotel for Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 8 :
Have Breakfast and transfer to Entebbe Airport for Departure.
