Kampala, the Capital City of Uganda, much like Rome was originally built, is spread over seven hills and takes its fabled name from Kasozi K'impala, interpreted as "the hills of the antelopes". The origin of Kampala goes backto 1891 when the Kabaka of Buganda held his court on Rubaga and Mengo Hills. Today as you stand on the hills within Kampala you are blessed with magnificent evergreen views intermingled with red tiled villas, green iron roofed bungalows and tall modern buildings surrounded by a lush green countryside and the nearby Lake Victoria.
While Kampala is often referred to as the greenest city in Africa, it is also the heart of Uganda, serving as the center of commercial life and the seat of government. Itinerary
DAY 1 :
Arrival and transfer to Hotel (F/B).
DAY 2 :
Have Breakfast and after, drive through the City Centre to the
National Theatre for the Local Arts and Crafts. Visit Nakasero market for fresh fruits. Proceed to Kasubi Tombs, a traditional architectural workmanship that has housed the remains of the Baganda Kings for One hundred years.
Enroute, visit the man made King's lake. Return to Hotel for lunch and after drive to the Historical Namugongo
Shrines a spot where over 20 Christian converts were burnt alive on the orders of King Mwanga in 1886.
Return to the Hotel for Dinner and Overnight (F/B).
DAY 3 :
Have Breakfast and proceed to Entebbe. Stopover at the roadside markets for fresh fruits and handicrafts. Visit the Uganda Wildlife Educational Conservation Centre to see Chimps, Lions, Ostrich, Crocodiles and colourful variety of birds for bird lovers. Drive to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens with trees of
1000 years. This is a beautiful spot for Picnics. Lunch at Entebbe Botanical Hotel.
After lunch, drive to Kigungu landing
site a place where the first Roman Missionaries landed. A commemorative church stands at this spot. Today, fishermen
use it as well. Proceed to Kasenyi landing site by the shores of Lake Victoria for a display of traditional and modern
methods of fishing. Return to Kampala for Dinner and Overnight at your Hotel (F/B).
DAY 4 :
Have Breakfast and leave for Jinja. Enroute, view the scenerary
of sugar and tea plantations. Stopover in Mabira natural forest for snaps proceed to Jinja up to the source of the Nile,
and visit the spot where this longest River in the world begins its journey to the Mediterranean Lunch at Speke Resort
Beach. After, proceed to Bujagali Falls where the river forms white water convulsions. This is a popular spot white-water
rafting. Return to Kampala in the evening for Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel (F/B).
DAY 5 :
Have an early Breakfast and leave to Lake Mburo National Park.
Enroute, see the roadside manmade drums. Stopover at the Equator photography then proceed to Lake Mburo National
Park for a Game Drive. See the Zebras, Impalas, the Uganda Kob, Waterbucks, Buffaloes and hundreds of birds. Have
a Picnic Lunch by the lakeside. Return to Kampala for Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel (F/B).
DAY 6 :
Transfer to Entebbe airportfor Departure.
